My annual trek to Bands of America was a fun one this year. I had 6 of my groups attend: Bellbrook HS
It was such a great experience to return as an adjudicator to Marching in Okayama 2013. Especially significant was the fact that it was their 25th anniversary. Congratulations to all involved!
Not only was I there to judge the marching band show, but I also represented WGI in signing a Friendship Agreement with the City of Okayama. It was truly an honor to represent WGI Sport of the Arts. There were many directors in attendance from all over Japan, as well as elected officials such as the Mayor, and their version of a Senator and Representative. Many journalists and television cameras were there to capture the event. A great time was had by all.
It was wonderful to see so many friends in Japan that I had not seen for a while. And I believe the bands there continue to grow and mature.
I am grateful for the invitation, and happy to have played a small part.
Arigatou gozaimasu.
